Boston Campus Hosts “HOPE for the Holidays” Concert

HOPE 2

On Saturday December 7, the campus ministry of the Boston Church of Christ hosted the “HOPE for the Holidays” concert to benefit HOPE worldwide. The event, organized by Collier Winters and Morgan Williams, was truly a special night, with many performances of both known and new songs.

HOPE 5The first set of the night was by the newly formed indie alternative band, Marahute, composed of Morgan Williams, Gracie Aho, Anselm Beach, and David Flores. This was their first official performance as a group, and they did a wonderful job inspiring everyone with their songs such as “Great Unknown” and “Praise.”

The next two sets were performances by the Downtown Region Boston Campus Ministry Worship Team. They sang powerful songs, like “Rejoice,” arranged by Morgan Williams based off of “Rejoice In The Law of The Lord” by Greg Petit. They also led everyone in crowd favorites like a medley of “Set a Fire” and “Nothing I Hold Onto.” Adam Henry performed a few Sufjan Stevens covers, such as “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “To Be Alone With You.”

HOPE 10Many of the songs performed are on the new CD Nothing I Hold Onto, produced by Adam Henry, which was sold during the event. During two intermissions, refreshments and homemade concessions were sold and a raffle and silent auction were held. All of the proceeds went directly to HOPE worldwide, totaling over $2,000. The CD is now available on iTunes for all to purchase!

In Galatians 2:10, Paul writes: “All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.” The hearts of the brothers and sisters to use their talents to support HOPE worldwide is truly inspiring, and to God be the glory.
