- 8,000+: Number of people who have contracted the disease to date
- 71%: Death rate among those infected with the virus
- 3 000+: Number of certified deaths to date
- 1 sister from the Monrovia church died of Ebola
- 250+: Number of healthcare workers who have died from Ebola in West Africa
- 20,000: Number of cases by November 2, as predicted by the World Health Organization
- 900: Number of new cases each week, according to the United Nations
- Between 550 000 and 1.4 million: Number of new cases in Liberia and Sierra Leone by January 2015 (According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
- 224: Number of recorded deaths—out of 425 cases—during the last major epidemic which took place in Uganda in 2000–2001
