Greg Gaumond recovers from Cancer

If you ever have been blessed to meet Greg Gaumond ‘s acquaitance, you would be amazed. Greg sets the standard for being one of the most joyful people in the kingdom of God. Greg is married to Carol and have two wonderful children – Zak and Katie. Both Zak and Katie are baptized and love God with all their heart. Greg’s demeanor, his joyful spirit, and his love for God exude from him like honey from a beehive.

You wouldn’t know, except for the cane he carries, that Greg has some serious health issues. Greg fights the daily battle of Lupus. As a true warrior and ex-marine, Greg does not let his Lupus become an excuse to hold him back from wholly seeking first the kingdom of God. His is a true encouragement to the whole church here in Portland.

Lately though … Greg was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Recently, Greg underwent an operation to remove his prostate. Greg may need to receive some radiation treatments if the PSA / blood tests indicate that in a few weeks.

Greg is about 2.5 weeks ahead in his recovery according to his amazed doctors. Both he and Carol appreciate all the prayers already offered up from around the globe by brothers & sisters, friends & family.

It is my personal request as a fellow elder of the Portland Church for prayers and supplication for Greg and his family. We love Greg very much and know you would to if you knew him. Between the Lupus and now Cancer, Greg is facing the future full of faith and hope. Please pray for his recovery and that God will be glorified throughout these circumstances and the future life of our brother, Greg Gaumond. I know that would mean a lot to Greg.

Thanks,

Bob Bertalot, Elder Portland International Church of Christ
