This past weekend, the Boston Singles Ministry hosted their annual New England Singles Ministry Retreat in the beautiful state of Vermont. What a glorious time it was. God was clearly moving even before this incredible weekend began. With a month left until the retreat, registration was completely SOLD OUT! In response, we had a second wave of registration, but that again sold out in a matter of days! As a result of God moving singles’ hearts to want to grow and be connected with each other, over 325 fired up disciples descended upon Woodstock, VT ready to be refreshed. Disciples came from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, New York, Toronto, Montreal and even Nova Scotia.
The spirit was clearly buzzing as the weekend started off with a worship devotional the first night. Saturday was an intense time of learning as Bo Cummings gave a powerful keynote message titled “Even Greater Faith.” Singles chose from a variety of lively and well-done classes to bring their faith to even greater heights. There was also plenty of time to relax and fellowship with the hotel’s four-star accommodations, outdoor events, charming shops and local activities. That night the singles were tearing it up on the dance floor, killing it at karaoke and teaming up for game night. There was even an engagement that took place! Sunday morning brought a close to the retreat with moving worship, and included an incredible message from Larry Reed on heaven. Visitors who came were inspired, impacted and left looking forward to studying the Bible.
We also heard a presentation from Disciples Today on the new relationships growing from the ICOC dating site www.dtheartandsoul.com and the opportunity for the 2014 Hawaii Fellowship Cruise.
The singles ministry is thriving and ready to do amazing things for God. With no shortage of faith in His Word, the singles are being transformed in ways only God can do – into something Even Greater!
