Press for Progress—International Women’s Day
March 7—A memorable day. A day of miracles. A day where God intervened. A day of salvation.
This was the day (according to Esther 3:7 in the NLT which uses the Hebrew lunar calendar) that Haman planned to annihilate God’s people. Thankfully, that didn’t happen! Mordecai discovered the sinister plan and enlisted the help of his niece, Queen Esther. She requested fasting and prayer, as nothing less than a miracle could stop Haman’s evil plan.

"God, Women and Sexuality" -- Los Angeles Women’s Event
On June 25, "God, Women and Sexuality" was the title and topic of our Coastal Los Angeles regional women's service with Dr. Jennifer Konzen as guest speaker. I am not sure I can do justice to just how impacting this workshop was to all who attended.
“Beyond Change” – South Florida Women’s Event
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." – Romans 12:2
“Change” is an all too familiar call in our current culture. In January, the world watched a Women’s March protest for change in laws and policies; on March 8, the 2017 International Women’s Day issued a “Be Bold for Change” campaign. As Christian women, we know that when life happens, only God’s Spirit empowers us to go beyond change, to actually be “transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Be Bold for Spiritual Change: God Answers Prayers
Praise God for his love and power on behalf of his daughters. On Tuesday, March 7, the sisters in our family of churches around the world joined together in a day of praying and fasting for unity, boldness, compassion, courage, clarity of our mission, and humility. The following day, International Women’s Day—as many women around the world were marching and protesting—our sisters were being bold for God. We know that God’s Spirit carries our prayers straight to the ears of our Father, and that his power and love will continue to work through us as we seek to take Jesus’ message of salvation, value, and purpose to everywoman.

Stepping Out on Faith
During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" Boston Church of Christ Holds Women's Teaching Day
The Boston Church of Christ hosted a very special Women’s Teaching Day on, Saturday, July 23, 2016, led by Jeanie Shaw. Jeanie serves in the work of the ministry alongside of her husband, Wyndham, who is an elder in the church. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, women’s ministry leader and an author of 10 books (seven for adults and three children’s books).

2016 brought several new sisters into the women’s service team as others transitioned out. This team consists of the Elders Service Team wives and the wives of those on the Evangelist Service Team. The women on the Teachers’ Service Team have also been a part of the group. Together, we try to keep issues pertinent to the sisters around the world in focus as we seek to fulfill our team’s purpose:
