Below is an encouraging story from ICOC Hot News.net as reported by Hyun.

86-year-old Grandma Is Baptized and Goes to be with the Lord

In 2001 Juyoung Jung was baptized in the Korean ministry of the Tokyo Church of Christ. Shortly after her conversion she invited her sister, Jumi who lived in Seoul, to the Seoul Church of Christ. Jumi studied the Bible and was baptized. At her baptism Jumi invited her 80 year old Buddhist grandma.

The grandma visited the church several times afterwards but the long distance and severe backaches prevented her from attending church regularly. Nevertheless Jumi read the bible to her grandma everyday and grandma decided to attend a Catholic church near by her house; she was even baptized there. Last year her health got so bad that she had to be in total bed rest. Since she was not able to go out, Jumi got some of the sisters in the area and started studying the Bible with her grandma. She was overwhelmed with joy when she learned about the cross and about biblical baptism. Even though she had not been able to get out of bed for months, she was able to go to the bathroom on her own several times after the studies because she was filled with so much hope.

On May 24, 2008, Dosun Kwon was baptized in Christ at 86 years old. After her baptism, her health deteriorated quickly and was in a comma for a short while. On July 14th she passed away. Even though Dosun’s family is Buddhist, due to her recent conversion the family decided to have a Christian funeral. Many brothers and sister came to the funeral grateful that Dosun is in heaven to be with the Lord.
