December is already here and Christmas day will be arriving soon. The Jakarta Church of Christ Mutimedia Ministry’s Berean Recording Division has launching its second music project, “Christmas Day”.
The album is now on sale within the church and has been marketed through radio and stores in Indonesia.
We also have our first album “Blessed Be You” which has already sold since June 2008. It sold more than 500 copies and has been heard by many ICOC leaders all over the world. You can see the website http://cdbaby.com/cd/pierrejacobs
The Jakarta Multimedia Ministry has been growing rapidly in these last 2 years, having established a church bookstore, sermon recordings, published books, CD’s by disciples, as well as lauching our own CD projects, such as “Blessed Be You”, all for sale through our church.
“Blessed be You” has its own story where we raised very little funds from a few people who had faith in our vision, and then through almost impossible odds, all the details just fell into place. All the people who worked on the album contributed in such as a way, each with a full heart, and one vision to spread the message through song.
The profits will go back to the Multimedia Ministry in order to build it even bigger to impact Indonesia, and hopefully all even all over the world.
About this Album:
“The purpose of life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even you wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by His purpose and for His purpose” (from Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren).
Everything in this album comes from God. I am just a part of His plan. God has using Naek so amazingly to gather all the singers and the musicians in this one great Christmas album. We spoke a lot on the phone in preparation of this album and we both concluded that, we will not able to make it if not because of God’s grace.
Little bit about the album. Inside the album consists of two new Christmas songs. Christmas Day song is about joy and celebration. I remember when Jacobs Family gathering together every December 24th night and share life, dreams, and promise that the coming year we are going to be better people. Recorded with Michael Widjaya, (remember Blessed Be You!), perfected by Joseph Tobing, one of the best vocalist I have ever heard and more than that he even added some of his own words into the song. The second song in the album is The Truth about Christmas, inspired by Sahat. Probably he had forgotten about this. We were at Multimedia Ministry meeting, and he mentioned about the real meaning of Christmas celebration. Naek contributed in writing the poem. Bandung GKDI Choir has given beautiful contribution to the song. Also in the album, you will hear the old Christmas and spiritual songs playing by the Arrows Band (Runir, Marcel, Abun dan Hizkia), amazingly innovative. I am sure that you will not find this kind of masterpiece anywhere. Very innovative, new, and it is like listening to so many great musicians in one band. I can only say that they (Arrows band) are amazing. For those of you who like jazz mix with little bit metal taste, then these songs are for you.
Pierre Jacobs has been selected as a “Runner Up” in the September 2008 round of the Song of the Year song and lyric competition. Further detail please see the website by clicking here.
