Muskan & Mom: Born to Belong

“I thought my life would end up in the streets of Delhi with the people who were harsh with me. My past life before coming to Asharan has definitely given me scars on my body. I shared with Gimms bhayya and Wendy didi about what I went through. I enjoyed all the time I had spent with them.

At Asharan I felt like I got my childhood back. I had people around me who cared for me. When I was in the hospital Omana didi and others constantly watched over me. My little friends at Asharan came to visit me. They all sat beside me, as I was depressed after my ear surgery.

When I recovered I took the opportunity to show my love and affection to other children that came to Asharan just like me. Even though I wanted to keep all my gifts and toys to myself I
decided to share it with every one.

Today I have the most awesome gift of my life. That is my adoptive mom who loves me so dearly. Now my mom and I are a family. I had only imagined how it would be to have a mom!! Today with my mom beside me I can look at my future with confidence and smile. It is as if we were born to belong.”
