God is moving in a powerful way in the Rio de Janeiro Youth Ministry. I studied the Bible with a teen during the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009. He was baptized on April 5, 2009. It was so amazing because he developed a passionate heart for God. He has desired to face challenges with all his heart. He also was the first teen to be baptized in our church in a long, long time. The church in Rio has a group of teens that grew up in the church and attend the services.
We as a church try to meet their needs doing classes for the teens. In 2009 Eric and Raquel, a married couple of our church, decided to assume this ministry, and now lead our teens. Also, Marco and Ana Maria decided to work with them as a team. They have teen children and are helping the parents.
Last year we had 4 baptisms, three young men (Ramon, Jonathas and Romulo) and one young woman (Laysla). This year we already have one baptism: Felipe was baptized on January 10, 2010.
We have many teens studying the Bible today, and our challenge is to have enough people to study the Bible with them!
