The Central Jersey Church of Christ, together with the New Jersey Region of the New York City Church of Christ will be planting a church in Ocean County, N. J. in the fall of 2011. In January at our joint service we put the dream before both congregations and now we are ready to begin to put together a “dream team” to send off to the Jersey Shore.
We would like to begin by selecting a couple who will lead the mission team to Ocean County. We are looking for a young couple with previous ministry training. The couple needs to be able to provide inspirational leadership to the rest of the team while leading the way in evangelistic zeal. The couple will also need to have a strong knowledge of God’s Word. It would be beneficial if the couple has some knowledge of Judaism but it is not a requirement. Ocean County is home to over 500,000 residents. Despite the County’s beautiful parks and over 3,000 acres of beaches, the Jersey Shore, which runs along the eastern edge of Ocean County, carries a negative connotation to many who hear it mentioned. Although what most may think is probably inaccurate anyway, we are intent on spreading the gospel throughout the Jersey Shore and the rest of Ocean County. There are additional Ocean County towns including Toms River, Lakewood and Brick that we will be focusing on as well.
We will soon begin to put together the Jersey Shore “dream team”. We will look to start a campus ministry at Monmouth University, Ocean County College and Georgian Court University. So if you are from New Jersey or have family in the area prayerfully consider joining us as we bring Jesus to the Jersey Shore.
