All of these “New” states took on a new meaning by being “Transformed.” Over 400 singles of all ages gathered in Southbury, Connecticut last weekend to be “Transformed” by the Word of God and his Spirit in each other. Marty and Chris Fuqua of Los Angeles were the guest speakers who challenged and encouraged with God’s power to transform our lives.
Carrandius Moore of Boston (right) gave the powerful keynote message on Friday night, his first sermon ever! He shared the state of the Boston singles ministry a few years ago. God has used singles ministry leaders Terry and Sue Folker to lead the revival that God has blessed with 143 baptisms and restorations in the last two years. He also gave them 23 engagements in 12 months!
The singles ministry of the New York Church of Christ gathered with the singles from New England for the first time at a retreat. Bim and Nicole Towolawi lead that ministry that they have served in as singles and now as a married couple. Singles planned and delivered most of the classes.
Other highlights to the weekend were the Saturday afternoon fun events from snow tubing to Texas Hold ‘Em. The Speed Dating that preceded the Saturday night dance was overflowing and buzzing with new beginnings of friendships.
Disciples Today made a presentation for DT Heart and Soul and for the Singles Caribbean Cruise this November. We are excited that two of our first weddings from DT Heart and Soul are occurring in New England – our very first one this weekend with Aida Calvo of Hartford, Connecticut and Paul Algarin of Fayettville, North Carolina.
