Our “Mountain Top Experience” at the ICMC US West

We just wrapped up the 2011 ICMC US West. What a tremendous “Mountain Top Experience” it truly was! We had nearly 1100 registrants from all over the western US, and also some from the east coast, Switzerland, Australia, and South Africa! From the first song on Thursday night to the last song on Sunday afternoon, it could not have gone any better. We are all still beaming!

The speeches were outstanding—some of the very best I have ever heard. Mike Taliaferro set us up in an amazing way with his opening speech on Higher Vision. The next night, Tommy Thang from Los Angeles, did a great job calling us to a Higher Love. Then Brian Campbell, a 24 year old single campus minister here in Denver did one of the most inspiring lessons I have ever heard on Saturday night, on Higher Calling (I know I am biased, but to hear that kind of message from a 24 year old was simply incredible—this generation we serve and lead needs many more such role models!). Then Vince Hawkins closed out the conference talking about Higher Faith. It was the best sermon I have ever heard from Vince—simply outstanding!

All of the classes in Thursday’s Staff Workshop and throughout the conference were equally outstanding to the Keynotes. God answered our prayers and the brothers and sisters prepared very well. We were all extremely moved, trained and inspired. And to have all of this in a setting as majestic as Estes Park, CO, at 8,000 feet of elevation, surrounded by the snow capped Rocky Mountains! Wow, we were blessed!

I have never felt so excited about where our campus ministries are at—and so enthused about where they will soon be!

With the great reports I have heard from the ICMC US East, it sounds like the Campus Ministry in the US is ready for a tremendous Autumn. (“Fall” just didn’t fit right in that sentence.)

I look forward to hearing great news of more and more souls saved and lives being transformed, to the glory of God. I also dream of seeing 3,000 college students together next summer for the ICMC and World Discipleship Summit in San Antonio!
