Here is a great training series outline on Expository Preaching with sample videos. This was put together by the American Commonwealth Region’s Commonwealth Academy as part of their Ministers Training Program.
Biblical Preaching by Haddon Robinson is the required reading for the series.

Students complete a short paper which includes a Sermon Outline (as per the book’s recommendation) as well as the following items:
- The sermon’s Big Idea (exegetical),
- Big Idea (homiletical),
- A quick analysis of aniticipated audience’s needs
- Sermon Purpose
- Sermon Style (and why one chose that style)
Students prepared the paper to discuss it during class. And they were to be ready to preach a 5 minute section of their sermon to the class. (assuming that the sermon would be approximately 25-40 minutes in total length). A few samples here:
