We have already written about how, over the course of many years, the dating site for disciples of Christ has begun to work all over the world. At the moment the site is being translated into Russian. This is a long, hard process, but we ask you to pray for it to finish so that the many Russian-speaking brothers and sisters can register on the site as well. Those of you who already know English and want to pursue relationships with English-speaking brothers and sisters can already register now. We want to share with you one of these kinds of stories: the story of Svetlana from Moscow.
DT Heart & Soul is a wonderful and unique opportunity for disciples of Christ from all over the world who haven’t yet met their spouse to find him or her in any part of the world from among people who share the same convictions and the same spiritual values.
I found out about this site 3 years ago, but at first I didn’t take it seriously, because the Internet was a relatively new way to build such relationships. A year ago I decided to register on the site, intentionally pray, and specifically seek out the person with whom I could share the rest of my life on earth. I found the site very interesting and useful, because:
Firstly: I felt confidence in the fact that only members of the Church of Christ were registered on this site, because it meant that we share the same spiritual values and foundation for our faith.
Secondly: I understood that here I could communicate with people who were intentionally pursuing a serious relationship, and wanted, like I did, to meet their future spouse. This made relationships more clear and purposeful.
Thirdly: For every member of this program a psychological profile was formed from a professional test. Also, professional psychologists made a list of candidates who, according to the results of the test, would be the best match for me and for them. At first I didn’t particularly believe that something would come of it, or that I could meet someone, especially when I had to communicate from afar and couldn’t see the person or be near him, but I continued to pray that God would show His will, and that I could trust Him.
Joe, the first brother who wrote to me, later became my boyfriend. God answered my prayer very quickly. Building a friendship from a distance has its pluses and minuses. A plus is the quality of the dates. When there was an understanding that, because of the time difference and busy schedules, we only have one hour to talk on Skype, I started thinking very carefully about every date, and about what I would want to talk about, what questions I would want to ask, what exactly I wanted to know about this person. There was also time to think about the next date and reflect on what to write. As such, the relationships become deeper, and you can get to know the heart of the person better. On the other hand, it is hard to see and understand what kind of person they are in real life, what habits they have, how they are at home, in relationships with other people, at church, how they conduct themselves in everyday life.
It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know many new people and at the same time not have to travel or go anywhere. You can get use the site at any time that works for you and focus on getting to know the heart, soul, and character of the person better. It is a wonderful opportunity that God has given modern Christians, and we have such an incredible resource that we couldn’t have dreamed about even ten years ago. Even if you don’t meet anyone on this site, it is an incredible opportunity from God to gain new experiences in pursuing relationships, find new friends, and find out more about yourself and your own needs and desires in a relationship.
The cost of a subscription to this site is relatively small, compared to the spiritual riches you can find. Try it, and don’t miss your chance. If I hadn’t tried it, I would not have met my boyfriend, who lives so far away from me, but with whom I have so much in common. Now I have an opportunity to get to know him more and more.
