July 18, 2013 – Thank you to everyone who served or are serving in Oklahoma for making it a tremendous success. This has truly been a national effort with congregations from San Diego to New York volunteering with HOPE worldwide in the Oklahoma City area to help families impacted by tornadoes. The entire Oklahoma City Church is doing a fantastic job of welcoming and supporting HOPE worldwide’s volunteers. The sites are very well organized and provide a great environment for service. Operation Blessing has proven to be a great partner. They are providing all the supplies we need – from tools to water to safety equipment.
With the aid of our volunteer teams, we are helping remove debris, along with cutting down and removing damaged trees. Many volunteers are spending time comforting individuals affected by the tornadoes by listening to personal storm stories. We, at HOPE worldwide, have had nothing but positive feedback during the entire event. It is truly a life-changing opportunity for our volunteers and those they are serving.
