Edward & Maybelle Bunker reside in Billerica, Massachusetts. When Ed married Maybelle she was a widow with six children. Between the two of them they have eight children, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren! This December, they will celebrate thirty years of marriage.
Ed was met by John Gath, a member of the Boston Church of Christ, while they both worked at the Christianson Bus Company. Ed noticed John reading on the bus while they were on break between runs. He asked John what he was reading and John told him the Bible. This intrigued him and as John and he became better friends spiritual conversation surrounding the Bible led to personal Bible studies with Ed. His wife, Maybelle, affectionately called “Kitty” was a lover of God’s Word and quickly and without hesitation welcomed the invitation to start studying also.
It was inspiring to see them persevere through their studies — always eager to be taught and open to change when challenged by the truth. They were humble and welcomed the kingdom. All who studied with them were amazed to watch the heart of a disciple being formed in them.
After nearly a year of studying the Word they made the decision to be baptized into the kingdom of God on September 10, 2014. Their joy and gratitude for having found the pearl of great value at this later stage of life is such a testimony to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
