The Great Land Christian Church of Anchorage, Alaska is excited to announce its plans to take Jesus’ Great Commission even further north, to Fairbanks, Alaska! The Great Land Christian Church of Fairbanks will be planted in August of 2015, and a mission team is already preparing to spread God’s word to the “Golden Heart” of Alaska.
Just 198 miles from the Arctic Circle, Fairbanks, Alaska is a truly unique city that combines warm, sun-soaked summers, real Alaskan winters, a modern city feel with a small town attitude, and a culture of strong independence and adventure. As Alaska’s third largest city, Fairbanks hosts approximately 32,324 residents. It is home to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the state’s oldest university, known for its nationally-acclaimed engineering programs. In addition, it boasts the annual World Ice Art Championships as well as some of the best viewing of the aurora borealis that the world has to offer.
Despite Fairbanks’ cold winter temperatures, it’s time bring God’s loving warmth to this great city. As the Great Land Christian Church prepares to plant what could be the world’s northernmost church in our family, we ask for your prayers. If anyone in our family of churches is interested in being part of this mission team, please feel free to contact Ray Nadon, lead evangelist of the Great Land Christian Church in Anchorage (phone: 907-350-8702; email: raynadon@ak.net). We are looking for strong, unwavering Christians that are prepared spiritually, mentally, and physically for a mission team environment. Those interested should be prepared to discuss your reasons for interest in Fairbanks, your strengths, ministry/mission team experience, and your financial ability to commit to the team.
Get ready for God’s word to spread to Alaska’s Golden Heart in Fairbanks, Alaska!
