Please pray for those in Ecuador and Japan as earthquakes have struck both countries in the last week. Help support relief efforts by donating to HOPE worldwide‘s Global Disaster Response.
HOPEww Japan has been assessing the situation and has found a large need among disabled and special needs communities, including children. Since 2011, HOPEww Japan has been heavily involved in helping disaster victims from disabled/special needs groups. The plan going forward is to continue helping in this area.
Charles Ham, HOPEww’s Global Disaster Response Coordinator, reports that HOPEww Ecuador took actions once the earthquake took place. Volunteers in Quito have been mobilizing resources to help the most affected communities, as far as eight hour away. Volunteers have been collecting food, water, and clothes, as well as other necessities.
