Two students in the San Salvador Church of Christ recently graduated thanks to the Turning Point Church‘s Becas (Scholarship) Program! For the last several years, members in the Turning Point Church have been supporting several college students with scholarships.
Many students in the church in El Salvador are not able to attend college because they must go to work directly after high school to be able to help support their families. In 2010, the Turning Point Church felt a call to help make a difference in the lives of their brothers and sisters. With a relatively small amount of financial assistance per month, these same students have been able to go to a university full-time and not have the pressure bringing in an income for their family, thus helping to break the cycle of poverty in these families.
Two of these students have crossed the finish line and have just received their degrees! Randolfo Campos and Katy Iglesias are great members of the church in San Salvador and have great plans to give back to their church, their community and their nation.
Congratulations Randolfo and Katy, and thank you to the generous members of the Turning Point Church who made it possible!
