“The View From Here” The Northern Virginia Church of Christ Women’s Day was held on Saturday, April 24 at the beautiful Arlington National Sheraton Hotel where a spectacular view of our scenic region was enjoyed by 145 disciples and over 125 of our friends and family!

An inspirational highlight of the day was the Worldview Procession which featured thirteen wonderful sisters dressed in their colorful native apparel who shared how their specific cultures have impacted their “view” of life, family, faith and happiness. We also played some fun games and were entertained with some amazing singing and dancing. As we wrapped the day up, God blessed us tremendously when Deb Watts shared a powerful message entitled “I Can See Forever” in which she expressed her faith in God’s loving care for her and her husband, Richard as they have faced relentless illnesses, injuries, heartaches and the day to day experience of living with cancer.
Comments from women who attended: “This Women’s Day was able to reach across age, race, gender and culture to impact every woman sitting there. One of the most valuable things we can have is prospective and I think that Ruby Mitchell helped us get that. In addition, the Worldview Procession helped us see beyond ourselves and look through the eyes of the Women throughout the World. Deb Watts brought me to tears with the story of her faith and perseverance. I feel privileged to have been there and to be a part of the wonderful NOVA church” and “I think that every woman who attended had to have been moved by some aspect of the event to see God’s view instead of our own view. The whole experience was very uplifting and encouraging and it was evident by the expressions on the women’s faces as they were leaving.”
Mary Bea Bouchet concluded, “It was very moving and interesting as well – and it really highlighted the fact that the church here is very international. As God’s kingdom should be, I think. It was a wonderful morning.”
