HOPE worldwide expects over 6,200 volunteers to serve during this year’s MLK Day of Service in more than fifty locations across the US. Chapters are planning to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King by distributing life-saving fire prevention and disaster preparedness information to neighbors in at-risk areas, holding blood drives, serving homeless families and those living in shelters, holding food and clothing drives and serving families of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Our volunteers will also serve individuals with developmental disabilities, foster children and families and residents of nursing homes. Some of these programs have been funded by a generous grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service.
